Rauvolfia densiflora, also known as Dense-Flowered Snake Root, is a shrub that is native to India and Sri Lanka: 
Appearance
Can grow up to 12 ft tall, with flowers that bloom from June–July. The fruits are brownish-purple when ripe and usually occur in pairs. 
Medicinal uses
The roots of the plant contain biologically active compounds that have been used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
Snake poisoning 
Malaria 
Typhus 
Hypertension 
Sedation 
Gastrointestinal and circulatory illnesses 
Liver pain 
Stomach pain 
Dysentery 
Intestinal worms 
Habitat
Found in evergreen forests. In Karnataka, it can be found in the Uttara Kannada district. In Kerala, it can be found in the Kannur, Wayanad, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Idukki, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram districts. In Tamil Nadu, it can be found in the Megamalai Wildlife Sanctuary and the Theni district.
